Describe when and where students can find feedback.

Example:

I will be using grading rubrics to share expectations and feedback for assignments, discussions, and major assessments.
I will also provide written feedback to you using the "comments" area, which can be accessed by reviewing your submitted assignment, or from within your Grades page.
I will provide annotation feedback directly on your essays and written assignments. Annotation feedback can be a little buried in Canvas. If you need assistance finding the feedback, check out the How do I view annotation feedback Canvas student guides.
I will do my best to provide grades and feedback within 2 weeks of the due date.

Late Work

Share your late work policy with students.

Example:

I will expect that you will strive to complete each assignment by the due date. But I recognize that you are juggling a lot and there may be days when completing coursework is not your top priority. If you anticipate the need for an extension, please send me a message in advance of the due date so I am aware of your situation. Propose an alternative due date that you feel is reasonable (I advise no more than 48-hours to ensure you do not get behind). I will reply with an agreed upon due date to support your success.

Receiving an extension on discussion boards will not be permitted. The very nature of discussions is to have a conversation around/about the content that is interactive and timely. For an asyncherous class (like this class), it's important to have "due by dates" so everyone has time to plan and participate. If students are interacting on discussion boards past the due by dates, there is a chance that students (and I) will miss the awesome things you wish to share because we will be focused on the next discussion or assignments. We want to read and engage with people in this class. Please make every effort to participate and engage in the weekly discussions.
